Uncovering the truth by reading lips.

In this episode, Jerry and George are seated in the stands at a tennis match. George doesn’t like the sun block lotion that Jerry has because the SPF rating is too low for him. Jerry tells George not to bring a date to the party this weekend. Jerry is infatuated with the tennis lines-woman. George goes to concession stand for sun block. Elaine complains that the drivers for the company driving service always have to talk to you. While at the concession stand, the TV camera crew catches George sloppily eating a hot-fudge sundae. The hot fudge is all over his face and announcers make some sarcastic comments. In taxi, Elaine pretends to be deaf to avoid talking to the driver but she is caught “hearing”. Jerry tries to talk to the beautiful tennis lines-woman and fails to get her attention, but when he does, he asks her if she deaf. She responds, “Bingo” but Jerry still manages to get a date with her. George’s girlfriend, Gwen, breaks up with him using the “It’s-not-you-it’s-me” routine. George begins to realize that everyone has seen him on TV slurping down the hot-fudge sundae and thinks that Gwen probably saw him on TV also and it is the reason she broke up with him.

Funniest scene:

Jerry takes the beautiful and deaf tennis lines-woman, Laura, to a restaurant for dinner and George tags along. George explains to Laura that the lack of napkins at the concession stand cost him a relationship. Laura begins reading the lips of a couple sitting at a table across the room. She tells Jerry and George that they are breaking up and the woman at the table just said, “It’s not you, it’s me.”

Then George is strike by the idea that Laura can help find out why Gwen broke up with him by reading lips at the party and wants to discuss this with Jerry without Laura reading his lips. So Jerry and George proceed to talk to one another by using various gestures to hide their mouths from Laura. They talk continuously as George keeps a glass of water in front of his mouth, Jerry scratches upper lip using his entire hand, George shoves tiny scraps of food into his mouth by keeping his hand in front of his mouth, Jerry keeps a glass of water in front of his mouth, George raises both hands to his face to scratch his eyes, Jerry uses his napkin to wipe his nose, George extends both arms to the front of him in an upper-body stretch and turns his head toward his upper left arm.

After all this, Jerry turns to Laura to explain the plan to her and ask her if she would participate in it, but he only can utter a few words before she blurts out that she’ll do it.
