In this episode, Larry David, the co-creator of Seinfeld, addressed the abortion issue in his own inimitable way. Kramer and Poppie, a restaurant owner, are going into business together. Poppie likes Kramer’s idea about the pizza place where one can make his own pizza. The clientele will be provided the dough, all the toppings ingredients and they will make the pizza and place it in the oven.
Funniest scene:
In the kitchen at Poppie’s restaurant, Kramer, wearing a chef hat and apron, is at the beginning stage of making a pizza and Poppie is advising him on the proper techniques on throwing, spinning and kneading the dough. When the dough is ready, Kramer starts to add the toppings. He adds the sauce first then the cheese. Poppie suggests to him not to add too much cheese. Then Kramer chooses cucumbers. Poppie asks Kramer what’s that that he is putting on. Kramer responds that they are cucumbers. Poppie says that you can’t put cucumbers on a pizza. Kramer asks why not; he likes cucumbers. Poppie says it’s not for a pizza and it’ll taste terrible. But Kramer says that’s the idea; you make your own pie. Yes, Poppie says, but we can’t give the people the right to choose any topping they want and on this issue there can be no debate. Kramer asks Poppie what gives him the right to tell him how he would make his pie. Poppie says because it’s a pizza. Kramer says that it’s not a pizza until it comes out of the oven. Poppie responds that it’s a pizza once you put your fists in the dough. The scene ends with their shouting “No, it isn’t” and “Yes, it is” at one another.
