Who are you calling a big ape?

Kramer and Mickey enter Jerry’s apartment. Jerry introduces George to Mickey who is a “little person”. Mickey firmly corrects George after he refers to others of his same stature as midgets. Kramer and Mickey are working together as stand-ins for the actors on the TV show, “All My Children”. Mickey is the stand-in for an 8 year-old child and Kramer is the stand-in for the child’s father. Mickey tells Jerry that the job isn’t going very well because the “kid” is growing. Mickey is very worried that he is going to lose his job and Kramer suggests that he gets lifts for his shoes. Mickey quickly rejects that saying it would be out of the question. On the way to the TV set, Kramer insists that they stop at the shoemaker to get lifts. Mickey doesn’t want to and explains to Kramer that little people just don’t do that kind of thing, but in the end he does get the lifts. At the TV set, all of Mickey’s little people friends notice that he looks different and one friend, Johnny, is very suspicious.

Funniest scene:

Kramer is in Jerry’s apartment and Mickey enters. He tells Kramer that the “little bastard” Johnny went through his locker and saw the lifts in his shoes. Mickey says that Johnny knows that he’s “heightening”. Mickey turns a very angry gaze to Kramer and yells that this would never have happened if Kramer hadn’t pushed him to get those things. He told Kramer this would happen. Kramer shouts back that nobody put a gun to Mickey’s head. Mickey, charging toward Kramer, yells for Kramer to keep out his business, pushes him and calls him a big ape. Kramer asks Mickey who’s he calling a big ape and pushes him back. They grab each other and start fighting and Jerry has to tear them apart.

The fact that the top of Mickey’s head only reaches Kramer’s waist makes this fight scene hilarious.
