Tonight’s episode was about taping the pilot show at NBC. Jerry is playing himself, but “actors” portray Elaine, George, and Kramer. Of course, on the set during rehearsal, George cannot resist giving the pseudo-Kramer some pointers on delivering his lines. Pseudo-Kramer doesn’t take this criticism very well and the confrontation between them has some funny moments.
Funniest scene:
At the start of this episode, we learn that George has undergone a lab test for some health issue and, of course, he thinks that he is near death. Later in the episode, while on the set, George uses the public telephone to call the doctor’s office and we only hear George’s responses to what is being said on the other end of the phone line. He identifies himself and states that he is calling for his test results. There is a slight pause and then George shouts in shocking disbelief, “Negative?” Then he throws his head back and looks up and whines imploringly, “Oh my God. Why? Why? Why?” Then he pauses, trying to understand what is being stated to him on the phone. “What? Negative’s good? Oh, of course, how stupid of me.” Relieved and with short, nervous bits of laughter, he replies, “Thank you. Thanks very much.”
